 London is the capital of the United Kingdom (UK) and England. The history of London starts from the establishing the Londinium city by the Romans.  London is one of the leading global cities and the world's main financial centre together with New York. Due to its global position London's influence in finance, politics, education, media, fashion, entertainment, culture and the arts is great. It is a main tourist object for overseas and domestic tourists.

There are such UNESCO World Heritage Sites in London as: Maritime Greenwich, the Tower of London; the Royal Botanic Gardens; the Palace of Westminster and Westminster Abbey & St. Margaret's Church.

Since 1965 Greater London has been divided several times. Nowadays London consists of thirty-two districts in addition to the historic City of London which is the key financial area now. The West End is London's famous district for shopping and entertainment. The East End is situated closely to the Port of London, well-known for being one of the poorest places in London mostly because of its high immigrant population.

London's architecture is too various to be described by any particular style in architecture because of being built over centuries. There are a lot of splendid parks.

Main sights:

• Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Tower – is the grand ancient fortresses that have served its master as royal palace, armory, prison and even as a zoo. The world landmark Tower Bridge was built 1894 and linking London's south east to the Tower of London. There is a walkway at the top of the Bridge which provides excellent views of London. So your visit to London will be not complete without excursion to Tower by Tower Bridge.
• St. Paul's Cathedral (St. Paul's) – it’s a Sir Christopher Wren's masterwork was built in 1710. Here you will find the famous Whispering Gallery, the tombs and memorials of English heroes such as Duke of Wellington and Admiral Lord Nelson and many other interesting things.
• Houses of Parliament (Palace of Westminster) and Big Ben. Parliament is open to the public so you easily can attend committee hearings and debates or even climb the famous Clock Tower and see the world's greatest clock Big Ben.
•  Westminster Abbey. Every year over a million tourists come to Westminster Abbey to discover its history and amazing architecture and artifacts. Westminster Abbey is a very special place where since 1066 English Queens and Kings have been crowned and buried. The fantastic Gothic Church that we know today was built by Henry III in 1245. The Muniment Room and Library contain collections of historically important archives, manuscripts and printed books.
• Buckingham Palace and Admiralty Arch. Buckingham Palace is the official London residence of Britain's monarchs since 1837. Royal Flag is up when Queen Elizabeth is home. The changing of the Guard takes place in the Buckingham’s Palace forecourt at about 11am. Because Palace is a working building, only 19 State Rooms (from the total amount of 775 rooms) are open to visitors. The Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace is a permanent place dedicated to the changing exhibitions of Royal collection - from wide-ranging sculptures, paintings and other works of art to the precious. In one the world’s finest working stables – the Royal Mews, you can see the collection of historic coaches and carriages. Admiralty Arch is a beautiful construction you can walk through and up to Buckingham Palace in about 10 minutes.
• The National Gallery in London is a magnificent building in Trafalgar Square and home to about 2,000 masterpieces of the Western European art such as Monet, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Da Vinci and Raphael' to name a few.
• Windsor Castle is a must see for tourist because it is not only the royal palace but also - the 900 years of British history, a magnificent chapel with fantastic works of Rembrandt, Rubens, Holbein, Brueghel, Van Dyck, Canaletto, Gainsborough and many others. It only takes about 30 minutes to get to Windsor from Paddington train station in central London.
• London Eye is placed opposite the Houses of Parliament and is famous for being the largest ferries wheel in the world and giving you much to look at wonderful and panoramic views of London.
• Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Tate Boat. Tate Britain is the British art centre where you can enjoy the works of such outstanding British artists as William Hogarth, Gainsborough, Reynolds George Stubbs, Blake, Constable, Turner and many others. Tate Modern is the national gallery of international modern art in Britain. You can find here amazing works of Picasso and Matisse, Dali, Ernst and Mirò, Lichtenstein and Warhol and many others. The Tate Boat is a wonderful idea of getting you from Tate Modern to Tate Britain or vice versa in one pleasant trip
• Museum of London is the urban history museum with over 2 million objects in collection that take you back to the origins of London.
